The SMOK Nord 2 and Nord 4 are popular and well-designed pod systems, but questions can arise about even the best products, and these devices are no exception. U VAPE is here to answer your questions about the SMOK Nord 2 and Nord 4 and provide troubleshooting tips to help you if you encounter any issues.

1. What Are the Differences Between the Nord 2 & Nord 4 Pod Systems?

Here are a few key differences between the Smok Nord 4 and Nord 2:

  • The Nord 4 is slightly larger than the Nord 2 (104.9 x 33.7 x 24.4mm vs. 95 x 30.5 x 20mm).
  • The Nord 4 has a larger battery than the Nord 2 (2000mAh vs. 1500mAh).
  • The Nord 4 charges via a USB-C cable, whereas the Nord 2 uses a standard USB charger.
  • The Nord 4 has dual airflow wheels to customize the user’s draw. The Nord 2 does not have this feature.
  • The Nord 4 has an output wattage of 5-80w. The Nord 2 has an output wattage of 1-40w.

2. What Are the Similarities Between the Nord 2 & Nord 4 Pod Systems?

Both the SMOK Nord 2 and Nord 4 come with 2 x 4.5ml refillable pods.

5. How Long Will It Take to Charge My Nord 2 or Nord 4?

The SMOK Nord 2 should charge in just under an hour when using the supplied charger, and the SMOK Nord 4 should charge in around 80 minutes.

6. Can I Use a Different Charger to Charge My Nord 2 or Nord 4?

SMOK recommends using only the supplied charger to charge your Nord 2 or Nord 4 device. Using a charger that delivers higher voltage can damage the battery in your device and lead to performance issues.

7. How Do I Adjust the Wattage on My Nord 2 or Nord 4?

SMOK Nord 2

Click the power button on the side of the device 3 times. When the wattage value begins to flash, click or long press the power button to adjust the wattage of the device from 1-40w.

SMOK Nord 4

Clicking the power button on the side of the device 3 times locks or unlocks the controls on the SMOK Nord 4 so that wattage can be adjusted. When the device is unlocked, use the UP/DOWN buttons next to the display screen to adjust the wattage of the device from 5-80w.

8. What If My Nord 2 or Nord 4 Doesn’t Fire When I Push the Button?

Your device may be locked, or it may not be properly charged. Press the power button on either the Nord 2 or Nord 4 3 times to unlock the device and try again. If that fails, try plugging in your device and charging it.

9. Why Is My Nord 2 or Nord 4 Leaking?

The Nord 2 and Nord 4 pod systems can leak under the following circumstances:

  • Misaligned coil: the Nord 2 and Nord 4 both use push-in coils that you don’t need to screw in, but leakage can occur if they are not pushed in completely. Ensure your coil is sitting fully in the pod system.
  • Overfilled pods: Filling your Nord 2 beyond the max fill line can cause leakage from the top of the device. Never fill your tank above this line. The Nord 4 can leak when overfilled. Stop filling your Nord 4 when the liquid is close to the top of the filling opening.
  • Physical damage: Impact damage or warping due to significant temperature changes can crack the plastic on your Nord 2 or Nord 4 device, allowing e-liquid to leak out.
  • Misaligned filling cap: Check the rubber filling cap on your Nord 2 or Nord 4 to make sure it is properly secured. Loose or missing caps can allow e-liquid to leak from the device when it is on its side.
  • Stored too long with e-liquid inside: vaping devices are not intended to be stored when full because the e-liquid can eventually saturate the coils. Remove all e-liquid from your device if you are planning to go more than 24 hours without using it.
  • Environmental changes: Flying or travelling over terrain with significant elevation changes (such as mountains) can increase pressure on your Nord 2 or Nord 4 device and cause leaking. Leaving your device in direct sunlight or freezing temperatures can also result in leaks, since heat can make the e-liquid inside the device expand and cold can make sensitive components brittle.

10. Why Does My Nord 2 or Nord 4 Taste Bad?

If you notice a burnt taste while using your Nord 2 or Nord 4 device, it may be for one of the following reasons:

  • Under Filled Device: Not using enough e-liquid in your Nord 2 or Nord 4 can result in undersaturated wicks, changing the way your device tastes.
  • Worn-Out Coil: To keep the flavour in your Nord 2 or Nord 4 fresh, change your coil out every 2-4 weeks.
  • Wrong Wattage: To keep your coil fresh as long as possible and preserve flavour while using your device, check the coil’s recommended wattage range before use. This information should be printed on the side of the coil.
  • Vaping Too Quickly: Chain-vaping (taking several drags in quick succession) may not give the e-liquid in your device enough time to reach the wicks between drags. Make sure your coil can fully saturate between drags by waiting 15-30 seconds.
