This physically larger and arguably much more powerful addition to their legendary line of refillable pod mod systems is bigger, better, bolder, and more fun to use than ever.

SMOK's retail packaging is clean and unassuming, with glossy product art on the front, spec callouts on the side, and the standard nicotine warning across the bottom. The device itself was seated neatly inside a moulded black plastic tray alongside the pod, spare coil, charging cable, manual, and warranty card.

We knew from other reviews that the Nord 6 was going to be huge, but the difference in size and build quality didn't fully kick in until we had it in hand. This beast of a device is almost uncannily oversized with a much wider mouthpiece and a durable zinc-alloy chassis that weighs in at a whopping 145 grams.

Using the Device

Charging

The Nord 6's massive 3800mAh battery can push out up to 80W of power, and it's a big part of the reason why it takes up so much real estate. Batteries are typically the largest component in a refillable pod-based system like this, but the more capacity you have, the less often you need to charge.

The USB-C port sits on the side near the bottom and supports 3.0A fast charging, which gets the 3800mAh battery from empty to full in about two hours.

The 0.4Ω pod comes pre-installed, so all you need to do is fill the 5mL tank, click it back into position, and hit the firing button when you're ready to draw. Give the coil 5-10 minutes to saturate before your first pull, especially with thicker high-VG juices, to get the best flavour.

Draw Quality & Taste

The Nord 6 worked best when we treated it like a high-powered RDL or DL pod rather than a cigarette-style MTL device. Draws felt smooth and full-bodied at higher wattages, with consistent vapour production and a satisfying throat hit you don't usually get from a pod system this size.

Flavour

Both RPM 4 mesh coils included with the kit delivered the best flavour when set to 40-60W, and came through clean and layered. The 0.6Ω coil produced a softer, more relaxed hit and reduced how fast we chewed through the battery before having to charge again. Dropping the power level to 30W reduced the intensity even further on the 0.15Ω, which may be ideal if you're newly swapping over from cigarettes.

Performance and Modes

The Nord 6's airflow meaningfully changes the feel of each draw. Opening it up gives you a looser, airier pull with thinner clouds, while closing it down makes the vape warmer and adds resistance. We used Norm for casual sessions and everyday vaping, and Smooth when craving a lighter hit.

But Boost is where the Nord 6 really shines. You'll get dense, even clouds and a stronger throat hit that's just as suitable for chasing clouds as it is for long, lazy sessions with close friends.

Screen and Controls

The touchscreen is locked by default, which is a nice safety feature for daily carry. Swipe up to unlock, then tap or swipe through the menu to adjust wattage, switch modes, check your puff count, or change the screen theme.

Everything is laid out clearly, so you're not guessing what to press. The colourful graphics make it feel a little more fancy and fun to use, but it's straightforward enough for even a newbie to learn quickly.
