Your individual preferences will play a huge role in determining the vaping products you use, so it’s vital to do some research before zeroing in on a specific device. That’s why we create these unboxing & review articles for popular vape devices & starter kits from STLTH and other respected brands.
Below, we’ll show you exactly what comes with the STLTH Type-C Vape Device Kit, and share our thoughts with you about what makes this closed-system device different from others in its class. Then we’ll explain what we noticed while using the STLTH Type-C and conclude by telling you who we recommend it for and why. Get ready; it’s time to turn on STLTH mode.
The STLTH Type-C Device Kit includes the following:
At first glance, this device seems extremely similar to the STLTH vape device you might already know and love. It’s got exactly the same shape and dimensions, although the Type-C comes in a few different colors: Red Metallic, Rose Gold Metallic, Blue Metallic, Green Metallic, Silver Metallic, Gold Metallic, and Black Metallic. So you’ve got lots of options.
Other than that, you can barely tell this isn’t the same device. STLTH clearly adheres to the “if it ain’t broke; don’t fix it” school of design, and that’s fine by us—we loved the original STLTH device and recommended it highly when we unboxed and reviewed that product.

However, there’s one more major difference you’ll likely notice before using this device, and that’s the type of charger it uses. As the name implies, the STLTH Type-C device is compatible with USB-C chargers, allowing it to charge up much faster between battery cycles. The battery holds 50mAh more than the previous model as well, but we’ll talk about the difference that makes in the next section.
If you’ve used the flagship STLTH device before, you won’t find any surprises here—they’re both fixed airflow devices that are activated via direct draw. The STLTH Type-C is also compatible with the same pre-filled pods as the older version, meaning that the smooth vapour clouds and pleasantly-noticeable throat hit carry over as well.
If the STLTH Type-C is your first product from the brand, here’s what you can expect: a lightweight and compact device that produces solid amounts of vapour and more flavour than you’d expect from such an unassuming package.
The 2ml e-liquid pods usable with this device come in a fairly wide range of different flavours and nicotine strengths, so you’ll probably have a lot of fun experimenting with them to find the taste you like best. Numerous flavours are available in different categories—some sweet, others musky or minty.
Please note that regulatory changes may alter the available flavours for this device and others in the very near future. All the more reason to get your hands on the pods you want now.
One major advantage that comes with the STLTH Type-C device is its battery, which clocks in at 470 mAh. That extra capacity gives you an entire day’s worth of moderate vaping without needing to plug your device back in for a re-up, making it an even better companion for weekends and day trips.
Charging time for the STLTH Type-C is awesome, too—we found that it was possible to charge up the device in under half an hour using the supplied charger. That’s not surprising, since USB-C cables have a charge rate current of ~3A (or 3000 mAh). This represents a major leap forward and significantly more convenience for users who don’t want to wait before firing up their device again.
Here’s a rundown of the notable features in the STLTH Type-C:
We sell the STLTH Type-C Vape Device Kit for $23.99. That makes it a few dollars cheaper than the STLTH Vape Device Starter Kit (at $26.99), and notably cheaper than the newest devices from longtime rival brand Juul, which retail for upwards of $30 each.

The jury’s all in on this one: the STLTH Type-C is an essential upgrade of the original model, making STLTH even more competitive with rivals like UWell and Juul. Here’s how they compare when put head-to-head:
The classic STLTH vape device is already enduringly popular, and the Type-C gives you even more to love. You get the same available pods, the same portability, and the same vaping style—all with faster charging, and longer battery life. The battery life indicator light has even been improved a little, too! Plus, it’s cheaper.
Winner: STLTH Type-C
STLTH and Juul have always given each other a lot of competition, so it’s reasonable to wonder how the Type-C holds up against the latest Juul offering, the C1.
The Juul C1 offers a couple of innovative features—for example, it connects to your phone via Bluetooth so you can track it easily, lock it remotely, and view your usage stats. The tracking is a nice touch for those of you in the habit of misplacing your things, but we’re not really sure those other features are things you need an app for. Just how much of a hassle is it to get up and lock your device if you’ve left it across a room (and that’s assuming you haven’t done the same thing with your phone)?
It’s also worth noting that the C1 doesn’t have USB-C fast charging (the “C” in the title apparently stands for something else). And at around $30 with most retailers, the STLTH Type-C is a better deal. We’re going to give this one to STLTH.
There’s also the VUSE ePod 2, which has a smaller battery (only 350mAh) and far fewer available flavours. Yeah, it’s cheaper, but we think it’s safe to say you get what you pay for there. Again, the STLTH Type-C comes out on top.
Winner: STLTH Type-C
If you’re looking for a convenient, portable, and reliable way to transition out of smoking cigarettes, it’s hard to do better than the STLTH Type-C. We highly recommend this device for longtime STLTH users seeking an upgrade and people who are new to vaping as well.
