UWell Caliburn Features
To lock, and unlock, the device simply click the button rapidly 5 times. The Caliburn is draw activated, however you can also press down on the button to fire the device.Underneath the fire button you have an indicator light showing your battery level. Green indicates your battery is above 60% capacity, blue when the battery is between 30%-60%, and red when it's below 30%.
The Caliburn has built-in protection features such as: short circuit protection, low power and over-vape indication, and a draw-activated mechanism fault diagnosis function, meaning if the auto-fire capability stops working, the device will deactivate it for safety, but you can still use the device with the fire button.
Moving onto the Caliburn pods, they have a top fill design and a capacity of 2ml. The Caliburn pods are made to provide a hit that resembles a cigarette. To fill the pod, remove the mouthpiece and fill from either side. Remember, to avoid a dry hit, to let your device sit for 5-10 minutes so the E-Liquid can soak into the cotton. If you look on the pod there is a plastic line that says “min.” Make sure your E-Liquid doesn't go any lower than indicated as you may risk burning out your coil!
Pros & Cons
There are a few pro’s and con’s when it comes to the Caliburn. Starting with the pro’s, I like the size of the Caliburn device; it’s slim and lightweight, making it extremely portable, something you can fit in a pocket without any discomfort.
Another feature I thought was executed nicely is integrating a draw-activated fault mechanism. One problem I’ve seen previously with draw-activated devices is once that capability stops working, you can no longer use the device. Having that button as a backup is a nice touch. The design of the pod and coil also provides a nice flavour.
Moving onto the con’s: a big one I would have to point out is the battery size. I would have preferred if the battery size was larger. Being the heavy vaper I am, I don’t find the battery lasts long enough for the amount I use the device.
Another item that would have been nice to see is having a variety of pods to use. The only pod available has a 1.4ohm built-in coil. It would be great to have the choice between different coils to allow you to get a different hit.
Summary
Other than those few things, I must say the UWell Caliburn is a very good device. If you're looking for a pod device that's easy to use and maintain, that simulates a cigarette’s hit, then this is the device for you. The pods are easy to fill, have great flavour and provide you with a satisfying hit.
