Summary
The UWell Caliburn G3 is a sleek open-pod vape system with a 900 mAh battery, a larger 2.5 mL e-liquid capacity, and a compact OLED screen that displays power, battery life, and puff info. It’s a lightweight but powerful upgrade for anyone using older Caliburn models, offering more battery life, tighter flavour control, and better usability—and without increasing the price.

What’s in the UWell Caliburn G3 Device Kit?
The UWell Caliburn G3 Device Kit comes with:
- 1 x Caliburn G3 Pod System
- 1 x 0.6ohm Caliburn G3 Pod
- 1 x 0.9ohm Caliburn G3 Pod
- 1 x Type-C Charging Cable
- 1 x Lanyard
- 1 x User Manual
You’ll notice that there’s also a brand-new cartridge listed for the Caliburn G3: the 0.6ohm. New to the Caliburn G series, it incorporates ultrasonic welding (to avoid leaks) and a U-shaped channel at the base (to properly store liquid), resulting in a 150% improvement in air-tightness control. With this new improvement, we’re off to a good start!
First Impressions of the UWell Caliburn G3 Device
Out of the box, the G3 feels like a natural evolution of the G2—similar in size and shape, but with better internals and smarter functionality. The new OLED screen at the base is a welcome touch for tracking power, puffs, and battery life, though it’s smaller than the full LCD on the G3 Pro.
Another feature that intrigues right away is the presence of 3 different firing modes—button only, draw only, or both. These don’t change the strength of your draw, just the way that you activate your vape. It doesn’t feel totally essential, but it’s a nice feature to have if you’re accustomed to vaping in a specific way.
Key Points:
- Resembles the Caliburn G2 in terms of size and shape
- New OLED screen displays battery, wattage, resistance, puffs, etc.
- 3 firing modes: button only, draw only, or both
Charging the UWell Caliburn G3 for the First Time
The Caliburn G3 includes quick and easy USB-C charging like many other UWell vape devices. That makes it much easier to vape and charge on the go—good news for travelers!
The new 900 mAh battery is a 20% percent increase from the 750 mAh battery capacity of the Caliburn G2—just one of many upgrades from that older model. You also get max output of 25W here, compared to the G2’s 20W max.
We found our device charged up in about 40 minutes when replenished with the supplied charger. You’ll find the charging port on the bottom of the G3, which means you can’t stand it up during the charging process—a minor quibble, but something we’ve mentioned in reviews of older Caliburn devices as well.
Key Points:
- Bigger, better 900 mAh battery
- 40 minutes to charge the device
- USB-C port on the bottom means it lies flat while charging
Preparing the Pod in the UWell Caliburn G3
If you’re used to UWell vape devices, the top fill system on the refillable pod will be very familiar to you. The G3 model has a slightly larger 2.5ml e-liquid capacity than the G2 (2ml) but the viewing window at the top of the pod is pretty much the same as the G2.
If you need to replace your pod, you can order more below. You’ll receive a 4-pack of pods with a 2ml e-liquid capacity available in 0.4ohm, 0.6ohm, 0.9ohm or 1.2ohm resistances.

Using the UWell Caliburn G3
Taste
We’ve always found that Caliburn devices hit really well, and the G3 is no exception. UWell’s Pro-FOCS coil tech makes a big difference here—the taste is noticeably more crisp and direct than with the previous line of Caliburn pods.
We got the best experience by reducing wattage a little for the higher-resistance coils and dialing it up somewhat for the 0.4 or 0.6ohm options. It’s great for MTL, but surprisingly serviceable as an RDL vape device as well.
Airflow Controls
Things get simplified here a little bit—instead of using a slider or wheel to adjust your airflow, the Caliburn G3 allows you to switch between two static modes by rotating the mouthpiece 180° within the device. Turn it one way to let more air through, or turn it the other direction for a more restricted draw.
It might feel a bit basic for those who have used the wheel on the G2—but it also makes controlling your draw simpler and more approachable if you’re new to vapes with lots of controls.
Device Battery Life & Performance
That 900 mAh battery on the G3 lasts a pretty long time, as long as you’re not hitting your device nonstop. You should be able to enjoy a full day of vaping without needing to recharge or refill the pod.
As for the pods themselves, ours lasted throughout the duration of our review period without a noticeable drop in taste—but customers have reported that the average lifespan for these is about 1–2 weeks with typical usage patterns. Keep your draws short, avoid chain vaping or super sweet e-liquids, and that’s probably around what you can expect.
Key Points:
- Great taste from Pro-FOCS coil tech
- Simpler airflow controls
- Pods should last 1–2 weeks with typical usage
Pro Tips for Using the G3
- Use 15–20W for 0.9–1.2 Ω pods
- Use 20–25W for 0.4–0.6 Ω
- Lock it before pocketing (5 clicks)
- Tilt the pod slightly when filling to avoid mess
- Charge before battery drops below 10% to preserve longevity
Frequently Asked Questions about the Caliburn G3
What’s the difference between the Caliburn G3 and the G3 Pro?
| Feature | Caliburn G3 | Caliburn G3 Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Screen | OLED battery/wattage | LCD with puff tracking |
| Battery | 900 mAh | 1000 mAh |
| Max Output | 25W | 35W |
| Airflow | Side switch | Slider lever |
| Pod Capacity | 2.5 mL | 2.0 mL |

What type of e-liquid should I use with the G3?
Use 50/50 or 60/40 VG/PG blends for higher-resistance pods (0.9–1.2 Ω). 60/40 or 70/30 blends work well with lower-resistance pods (0.4–0.6 Ω). Avoid overly sweet e-liquids as these can create coil gunk and shorten your pod lifespan.
What information does the screen on the Caliburn G3 display?
The screen on the Caliburn G3 displays:
- Power adjustment
- Battery indicator
- Resistance (depending on the cartridge inserted)
- Puff count
- What mode you’re in: trigger button only, auto draw only, or auto mode (both on)
- Warnings (low battery, draws over 8 seconds, atomizer short or no atomizer)
Is the G3 compatible with G2 or G Pro pods?
No. The G3 uses its own line of G3 pods. Pods from earlier Caliburn models are not cross-compatible.
How can I lock the G3 to avoid accidental firing in my pocket?
Yes. Press the fire button five times quickly to lock or unlock the device.
Should You Buy the Caliburn G3?
The G3 is a solid step forward for anyone using a basic pod system—or even the G2. It adds meaningful upgrades like wattage control, a new pod option, and a clearer screen, while keeping the ease of use that Caliburn fans love.
Buy it if:
- You want more power and flavour without switching to a mod
- You like having both draw and button activation
- You prefer a lightweight, stylish vape with reliable battery life
Skip it if:
- You’ll miss the adjustable airflow wheel on the G2
- You want a larger screen or more power—go for the G3 Pro instead
- You’re loyal to older Caliburn pods (they won’t work here)
Final Thoughts on the UWell Caliburn G3
The Caliburn G3 is the same price as the G2, so it’s a no-brainer that the newer model is worth the upgrade. The enhancements, even the small ones, make the G3 that much better. It may not be the most powerful vape device that UWell offers, but it’s most likely a step up from your current one. Plus, it’s low-maintenance and ideal for both beginner and experienced vapers alike.
